On Tuesday Jan. 15, Everett High’s girls junior varsity team scored 34 points to beat Revere High by nine in a close contest. The team really worked for this victory, as it was not an easy game.
The first period ended with a close score of 8-13. The second period was when the game got serious. Revere’s team played hard, which brought them to a big lead over Everett, reaching 16-25 at some point.

With team work and dedication, the third period was when the tables started to turn. During the third period, the team made effortless passes and shot after shot. By the end of the period, Everett had nearly closed the gap, with a score of 22-25.
In the fourth period Everett finally tied the game at 25-25. Each team continued to shoot shots, aiming for victory until the ending score of 34 – 25. Gabby Morris was the high scorer for both teams with 24 points.
Tuesday’s game was a clear display of the training and hard work of the girls junior varsity team. With determination, it’s easy to turn the tide of a game. The basketball season has only just started, so check out the schedule, and go support the girls in their future games.
