You can never go wrong with a night out to get Mexican food. The Border Cafe is a Mexican restaurant located on Route 1 in Saugus within close proximity to Greater Boston. The Border Cafe also has a second location in Burlington less than five minutes away from the Burlington Mall.
Border has a great authentic TexMex ambience. The restaurant’s decor is similar to any typical Mexican restaurant, but the country music coming from the speakers adds to the appeal. I enjoy hearing new Luke Combs or classic Luke Bryan music at Border. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The servers have a distinct uniform which I believe is very professional.
My go-to order at any Mexican restaurant is the kids cheese quesadillas (basic, I know). However, Border makes a simple quesadilla seem like an extravagant dish. They pair them with french fries, which are extremely thin and crispy.
My friends typically enjoy chicken fajitas. They bring the sizzling pan right to the table, delivering the aroma of the kitchen right to you. They include lots of add-ins with the fajitas so you can customize it to your liking.
I believe the prices for a meal at the Border Cafe are reasonable. Perfect for a family dinner or a night out with friends, this restaurant offers a price that is fair and makes customers want to return. Free parking and great service definitely add to the value of this Route 1 treasure. Also, Starbucks and Crumbl Cookie are right next door if you want a sweet treat post-dinner.
Their menu includes American foods and salads so there is something for everyone to enjoy. The chips and salsa, as well as the creamy queso and fresh guacamole, are just the beginning of a great experience and diverse menu.
I would recommend the Border Cafe if you enjoy Mexican food to any extent. The environment that is provided at Border is above any other Mexican restaurant I’ve been to. I think that the options and service at the Border Cafe make it a standout.
Overall, I really enjoy the food at the Border Cafe. It’s a well run restaurant with loyal customers that would all tell you how great the Border Cafe in Saugus is, and I am definitely one of them.
The Route 1 location is open Monday-Wednesday 4pm-9pm. Thursday and Sunday they open at noon and close at 9pm. On Friday and Saturday the restaurant stays open until 10pm.
