The fifth and final season of Stranger Things was released recently. This new season was divided into three volumes. Volume one was released on November 26th, Volume two came out on December 26th, a day after Christmas, and the finale dropped on New Year’s Eve December 31st. The final season had made many people excitedly waiting. I personally was really excited for it.
If you are unfamiliar, Stranger Things is a Sci-fi and horror TV show that takes place in Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s. It’s about a group of friends, whose one of the friends goes missing, and while looking for him they find a girl with powers. Throughout the show, they deal with secret government experiments, friendship struggles, and a series of bizarre, supernatural event all of which eventually connects in unexpected ways.
The show lasted for ten years with its first season coming out in 2016 and its last season coming out in 2026. It is really sad to know that the show has come to an end, especially since I watched the first season when it first came out. The feeling of waiting for a new season every time, watching theories, talking about it with my friends, it was such a great feeling. The actors started the show as children, and now they’re all in their 20s, which is crazy to think about. For example, Finn Wolfhard, who played Mike in the show, started filming when he was twelve and now he is twenty-two. Another actor, Caleb McLaughlin, started the show when he was thirteen, and now he is twenty-three years old.
I personally did not like the ending of the show, I think it was too rushed and the Duffer brothers who are the writers of the show, left too many open questions. Everyone thought they were going to kill a lot of the main characters, and they didn’t, they “killed” the main character of the show, Eleven, which is one of the reasons why I don’t like the ending. Although I understand their point of view in killing her I still don’t think they should’ve done it, because it just ruins the whole show from having a happy ending. In the end, everyone had their happy ending for the most part, for other characters it ended as it should, but only killing Eleven messed it up in my opinion. Well, at the end of the show they left her death with a theory that Mike created. He believes that her sister was able to make her an illusion and El actually had enough time to run away to a place far away, where she lives alone and far from the dangers of the government.
It’s sad to think about the show being over. It was part of people’s childhood. I was so used to watching a season and being excited for the next one, even though I knew it was going to take more than a year for it to be released. My favorite season is definitely the third one, as it is mysterious and is the funniest in my opinion. Waiting for the last season was so hard. It took the Duffer Brothers three years to release the last season, but they started filming the show in 2024 and finished the production in December 2024. Which shows how difficult the production of Stranger Things is. So If you haven’t watched it yet, I would highly recommend that you watch it.
