On Nov. 20 and 21 at 6:30 pm, the EHS Theatre Company will showcase its first play of the year here at the EHS Auditorium. Tickets will be free for all EHS students and staff, $5 for non-EHS students and $10 for adults, in cash only.
Written by B.D. Samuels, “Late Bus” is about a group of teenagers waiting for the bus. Each day, there are different characters with different problems and situations. “Late Bus” features an ensemble cast, meaning there are no particular main characters.
Behind the scenes, the play is run by hardworking students who are on the production team, and in the play itself.
The cast and production team includes junior Sarah Jasmine, the assistant stage manager for the play. Jasmine helps the main stage manager and the actors with anything they need. She is also Principality 2 in the play.
Sophomore Mary Nguyen plays Cara, who she describes as a “grudgy teenager” who has an“I-don’t-care attitude, but deep down, she’s really anxious.”
Freshman Darrias Reno plays a student in detention named Tyler. “Tyler is more laid back, doesn’t really care about a lot of the stuff, but he has secret anger issues hidden from people that show sometimes, and his best friend is Lala,” Reno said.
Sophomore Sienna plays Principality 1, also known as Nathan. Sienna describes Nathan as an angel that is a peacemaker, but it’s their first day on the job, so they’re prone to making mistakes.
Sophomore Tatiana Osorio plays Leah, who she describes as “a chaotic valedictorian.” Leah tries to figure out what life is, and what being an adult actually means.
Those are just a few of the talented cast and crew members of Late Bus. So come on by this Thursday and Friday to see how the story goes.
