In our very own school, a revolution in hydration is underway. With the introduction of modern water fountains, students are experiencing a wave of change. The school recently installed new water fountains to provide colder and more convenient water for the students.

Many students have been using these fountains daily, appreciating the improvements.

“The water now is always cold,” sophomore James Pimenta said. “Last year the water wasn’t cold all the time. I bring my own water bottle and fill it up, which is really convenient compared to having to tilt the bottle and fill it up that way.”

Sophomore Ever Castro agrees: “The water is tastier, colder, and comes out faster.”

“I think the water fountains have improved dramatically,” sophomore Carlos Perez added. “The old ones sucked, the water would come out warm and sometimes taste soapy.I think the water fountains have improved our hydration, but nothing too crazy.”

As the school community enjoys the benefits of the new water fountains, they also face the challenge of responsible usage. Challenges like water wastage due to misuse have arisen.

“Sometimes kids put their finger on the water bottle feature, causing water to get wasted. The ‘how many bottles saved’ tracker still counts it, making the numbers inaccurate,” Castro said.

The student’s feedback highlights the importance of being mindful to conserve water while appreciating the improvements, reminding everyone that small actions can make a big difference.
