Junior Ashleigh Parlee is proud of her Italian heritage. Her great grandma came from a small island called Sicily. If money wasn’t an issue she would go to Sicily because it’s very pretty and she would like to connect and get to know her roots. After high school she wants to go to NYU to study nursing and hopes to become a pediatrician. If that doesn’t work out she still hopes to help people in some way by being a teacher or therapist. She decided to take journalism because she enjoys writing and also enjoys English class. She  likes to write about people and their experiences, things having to relate to school, what’s going on in the world, and just open-minded free writing. She also has an older brother that told her about journalism. He is on the website but he has a mask on because it was during the pandemic. He is still currently on the website and wrote about her.
