Just now released news stating that April Vacation is cancelled. Most students look forward to a break after a month of not having any breaks or time off. The Spring break is being cancelled for the year of 2025.
“This upcoming April vacation will be cancelled,” superintendent William Hart said on March 29. “Our staff and faculty have shown concern for the academic school year and how far they are behind.”
“We’ve had way too many days off this year due to all the late entry days, all the previous breaks from Thanksgiving, December, and February. Also, there has been an absurd amount of absences from students which messes up with our education system,” principal Dennis Lynch said in an exclusive interview with the Crimson Times.
The Everett Public School Committee has also discussed removing all other breaks and only allowing days off only one day. This includes Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.
“The absences this academic school year is not acceptable at all,” freshman dean Lucy DiNatale said. “It disrupts their whole education which we all the faculty at Everett High School want to provide. I feel that we need to remove all the breaks.”
The school board has commented that this would not change and that April Vacation is officially cancelled for the year of 2025.
