The warm aroma of freshly cooked and seasoned food fills the air as soon as you step into Maria’s Taqueria. This small yet delicious restaurant offers an amazing blend of Salvadoran and Mexican cuisine. The atmosphere is rather fast-paced, similar to a fast food joint, but still homey and comforting if you’re a frequent enthusiast for Hispanic food.
Maria’s is a small place that smells heavenly once you step inside. You’re greeted by the kitchen staff working vigorously to fulfill the orders in a timely manner.

My absolute favorite dishes to order from Maria’s are their bean-and-cheese pupusas, their chicharron pupusas, and their sweet and refreshing horchata, which is a non-alcoholic drink made from soaked rice, water, cinnamon, and sugar.
Maria’s is relatively affordable and the food products are definitely worth the price. I will say the horchatas are a bit small in size and I would prefer if they were slightly bigger.
I would avoid anything spicy if you’re the type of person that can’t tolerate much spice, since I’m sure there’s certain specific dishes that include some level of spice.
Maria’s is recommended if you enjoy Salvadoran and Mexican cuisine, if you’re open to trying ethnic food from these places, and if you like Chipotle, for example.
Maria’s has that homey and comforting feeling to it that few restaurants can recreate. While it’s small and not too convenient to sit and eat, it’s amazing when it comes to preparing your meal at a timely pace and taking it out. The food rarely (if ever) disappoints, as their recipes are consistent. Maria’s is a tasty experience for anyone who is already a lover of Salvadoran and Mexican food, or who is open to trying the cuisine for the first time.
