He wants students to succeed in his class and is decorating his class in the best way possible. In his room, he has a skeleton that he puts a new sports jersey on every now and then. It is currently a Celtics jersey because of basketball season. His class is a really open environment.
Students describe Rodney Landaverde as a great coach and leader. It’s his first year being a teacher. Landaverde wanted to be a bio teacher so that he could work with the kids in Everett.
“I like to be energetic and make them participate, and I make sure each day they have fun, ’cause that’s what you come here to school for,” Landaverde said. “I think they’re happy.”
“I love it, kids are great, they’re getting to know the concepts, they have fun, and they’ve got good personalities,” Landaverde said.
Along with being a teacher, Landaverde is the JV girls soccer coach. “He is honestly one of the best coaches I have ever had, soccer-wise, and I’m thankful that I have him as a coach,” freshman Adrianna Figueroa said.
“He is very supportive, outstanding, and awesome,” freshman Lamar Tiblanc said. “He asks questions on what we want and what would help us feel good in the classroom. He’s a good teacher. He’s relatable, it’s a good experience, and it’s fun.”
